Exclusive "La Llorona" and "El Cucuy" Tees for toddlers...

For all of those Latino parent's out there, Dulce Bebe Boutique is proud to carry some very cute shirts with the names of our childhood characters. How many of us were threatened that if we didn't behave "el cucuy" or "la Llorona" would take us away? I remember my mom would tell my brothers and I that if we were come face to face with these characters they would run away from us!-I still don't think we were that bad!

For those parent's who are not familiar with either "el cucuy" or "la Llorona" These are characters of mythical (I hope) stories that have been passed down from one parent of bad kids to another for untold generations.

El cucuy is the Latino version of the boogey man. We were told that if we were bad el cucuy would come and take us away...

The story of La llorona or "the crying one" is a little more gruesome. It deals with a young Indian girl who became the lover of a rich Spaniard although they never married, she bore him 3 children. When the rich Spaniard finally married, someone else, he would come by to see his children, but would ignore their mother. The mother became so desperate for her lover's affection and blinded by his rejection, she took her three small children to the river and drowned them. When the mother realizes what she had done, she jumps into the river to try to save her children, but she too drowns. Now the mother is seen by the river in a long white flowing dress. She cries desperately and screams, "Where are my children?"

Great "newbie" photographer...

I recently came across an ad on "Craigslist" and the person was looking for people who wanted to have their pictures taken. I know, I had my doubts that it would be some pervert wanting to take pictures of people in some "artistic" poses. I was very surprised when I met a nice person by the name of Ruby Miranda. Ruby is working on building her portfolio, and I decided that I wanted some pictures of my little girl for my website. Needless to say, that Ruby made my little "Diva" feel very comfortable and the results were great. Ruby provided me with a CD of some wonderful pictures. So I am letting everyone out there who live in Kern County/Bakersfield, CA. that Ruby is still looking for more people to "practice" with. We have fallen head over heels for these cute handmade dolls. With the recent scare of those mass made imported toys it is truly a great idea to look closer to home for a new favorite toy. Your little one will not want to part from her new BFF. These dolls are made from new and recycled materials with a flair for vintage, funky fabrics. I recently requested a doll especially for my little girl. I told Shannon that I wanted a doll that reminded me of my little doll. Especially during those times when she is adamant that she wants to dress herself and comes out of her room looking like her closet exploded and she was in the middle.
